Ferrocita
A world dominated not by humanoids but rather, anthropomorphic animal critters! A giant paw seems to be encompassing the globe, leaving an industrial sized track. The oceans also hold a bevy of recognizable creatures but much like our Earth, Ferrocitas vast seas remain largely unexplored.
A world so much like our Earth but so infinitely different!
Cate Marpal
The center of the globe and the single largest discovered landmass. If we were to calculate it’s size we might be give or take equal to Earth’s Australia
How to describe this huge land? Well—It has lush beaches and sunny weather on its south-eastern coast. On its lower west south-west side, the Obdurental River cuts its way towards the center of this land mass, the divine waters surrounding the Zephyr Mountains. The northern most points hold cold foreboding mountains. The ‘pads’ of the paw form a system of large islands with some tropical environment on the eastern side whilst the more west side proves to hold some very harsh cold.
Considered by all to be the center of the world, this huge continent will likely be where we explore and spend a great deal of our adventure!
Floaty Goats Tavern
Most great adventure starts with a butt firmly planted in a chair imbibing liquid courage. Floaty Goats will provide the beers and the seats but the rest is up to the clients.
Who knew such huge trees existed and could hold such grand accommodation? This three story bar is considered a great place to drink! For any race! Unique among most bars is a lack of discriminatory policy in place. Weasels, badgers, and bears! All are welcome—just play nice yall. While you are at it, don’t forget to check out the theater on the second floor. It’s kind of small but it’s said that a lot of cult hits made it here first. Avian friends, feel free to fly into the top open tiki bar. Please make sure to tip your servers and please please don’t start a fight.
Cleaning up such messes is the owner’s pet peeve.
Shrewfort Forest AKA “The Training Forest”
Known to most as simply the Shrewfort Forest. It is a forest imbued with magic that can be activated by passing through the “Trial Arch”. Once one passes, they must undergo said trial. The trials administrators change depending on time but it’s widely believed that going at night is far more dangerous. So…the real question: Why does one undergo this trial?
Some go to prove something to themselves. Others go to prove to themselves to some potential patrons, hoping the ritual grants luck.
One thing one must ever do: Escape the forest without completing the trial. Failing or even requesting a forfeit of the trial are expected outcomes. But once in the midst of a challenge leaving is something the magic of the forest abhors and thus will be punished with a curse!
Undertow Dam
The strong stream of the Obdurental River can overrun a forest if not properly managed. The current flows in and out of the grand ocean and cannot be left unattended. Such duties are left to the masters of the river flow: beavers!
These stewards of the seaways build strong dams in strategic places to enforce order and control over the once thought uncontrollable waters. The biggest…is probably not the dam built by the beaver couple: The Undertows. Their small cozy dam has become a small wonder in its own time, the ingenuity of the beavers on full display.
It also has the distinction of being the final dam before the Obdurental River hits the vast Wyverse Ocean. Support your local beaver by the annual tradition of tossing your strongest bits of wood downstream so they may catch it and improve their homes!
Celestreeum
Atop the peak of the Zephyr Mountains is the world’s most inexplicable tree. It’s base takes root in the highest peak of the highest mountain and stretches out far beyond the view off the naked eye, cracking the heavens. This ancient tree is named Breve Didigin, meaning “The Divine Bridge”.
Got it? Cool. The Celestreeum is actually the temple that was erected around this great tree.Much like the tree is the gods hand symbolically reaching down to touch mortal kind, the Celestreeum is a beautiful temple created for mortal kind to reach their hands in prayer up to the divine. Surrounding the tree at its roots is a seven sided gate. Each side represents one of the Prime Deity, their marks serving as a seal for the tree’s protection.
Further out from the tree and into the temple itself are various chapels and places dedicated to the worship of Gods and demigods alike. This place is huge! Think football stadium. The Celestreeum is the largest singular temple in all of Cate Marpal, perhaps even all of Ferrocita.
Frequently, would-be vassels make the treacherous pilgrimage to the Celestreeum in order to present themselves to the pantheon of gods and Demi gods.
The chosen become Paladins, granted powerful boons.
Direhearth Mountains
Bitter cold frequently takes hold of the north most part of Robbunst. The top of the Direhearth Mountains is the most dangerous portion of this harsh wilderness. A spiky rock formation full of jagged cliffs and steep inclines that should only be scaled by experienced climbers. While you might think this could not possibly be habitable to any creatures, you would be wrong.
Were you to explore deeper or even be so bold as to attempt to free climb the structure you would find this odd formation is home of some of this world’s finest blacksmiths. Badgers, moles and other industrious creatures mine deep into the mountain’s rich ore deposits. Once collected, this ore in capable strong claws forge some of the finest armor that can be found in this world.
That said…it is considered highly impolite to disturb the work of the mountain’s denizens. The uninvited might find themselves in a dangerous predicament. Such focused dedicated folk do not suffer fools gladly. Approach with appointment or caution!
